Just had to spend my last Saturday of the Summer having dinner at my favorite spot in Point... We spent the day enjoying the beach, boardwalk, and last fireworks of the season and I absolutely wanted to end the day with dinner at Shore Fresh Seafood...
We arrived around 8:30 and were immediately seated. Only needed a few minutes to decide on our orders. I decided on the Fried Seafood Combo $17.99 which is Shrimp, scallops, clams, founder, and a crab cake served with fries, and coleslaw. The other entree was Mussels with white wine and garlic over linguini $16.99. I was served a large portion of golden brown fried seafood along with a few clams in shell. The fries were crispy and delicious as well as the coleslaw. The seafood was great with a squirt of lemon and the cocktail and tartar sauce accompaniments. Just the crab cake was a little well done for my taste but I still enjoyed my dinner very much and I feel its such a bargain for the quality and quantity of food. Im told the mussels were excellent as well.
The service here is always very friendly and welcoming. This was our third time dining here and this is now my first though of where to eat when I come to Point Pleasant... Definitely try them out if your in the mood for fresh delicious seafood... -

Going off season, the quality and freshness of the fish is not the same as in the summer months.
Tonight I picked up an order. The shucked oysters were small and gritty. The top neck, raw clams were the size of cockles. Both the oysters and the clams had pieces of shells in the "meat"
The mussels in garlic sauce were sandy. The sauce was watery and lacked taste.
The pasta with clam sauce, the tuna bites and the clam strips were average.
I gave this restaurant a good review in the past. After tonights meal its not worth returning. -

I'm a little conflicted-I really, really want to recommend this spot. Prices are fair, service is friendly, and off season you can easily find parking. It's also BYOB.
But everything is served on or in plastic, utensils are prewrapped in plastic wrap, cups are plastic-and if you dine al fresco you spend half the meal trying to keep your items flying off your table!
The lobster roll at $13.99 with hand cut fries would be a bargain, if it was a lobster roll. It's not, it's a lobster salad roll. Not a single piece of lobster was larger than the diced celery in the mix.
The shrimp po boy was better, nicely fried shrimp with a good remoulade dressing. Nice ripe tomato slices on both sandwiches.
And an outdoor loo not unlike an outhouse? Jeez. -

Shore Fresh is a gem! It's not super fancy (there is no shortage of those if that's what you want), but if its seafood you are craving, then this place is a gem. The seafood always really fresh, the food is immaculately prepared and tasty,
Sitting outside on a nice day, you can imagine yourself on a Greek island or other exotic location. OK, it's still the wharf in Point! I live in Brick so really do come here quite a bit, and love it. The lobster roll is as good as anything I had. On a recent trip to MA, we had a lobster roll in Finz Salem, It was terrific but it cost $27 compare that to thelobsterr roll here and you really appreciate what a bargain this place is. The chowders are well made and have lots of clams, chunks of crab or lobster depending on what chowder you order, and the raw bar is super fresh!
The staff has always been great and friendly. trust me you won't be disappointed. -

The buttery steamers appetizer breathes life into me!
Shore Fresh is one of the better casual seafood places I have been to in New Jersey. I say that because every item I've had or seen from their menu looks and tastes fresh and is very simple. By that I mean the majority of their dishes are very straightforward. Everything is made fresh and everything is made without any crazy surprises. I feel this is an excellent place to come to with friends or family after a long day at the beach to casually eat at in beach wear and prolong your beach experience!
Great casual atmosphere, with simple and delicious seafood for a post beach destination that's away from all the shore foot traffic!
